Foam Inserts
Basically this is the foam you would find in the cushion of your couch. Well guess what? Take a look at the picture. It will not do a great job of keeping out debris that will get into your gutter system. In fact they tend to keep moisture attracting bugs and insects. They also can weigh down the gutter.
Gutter Covers
These are water adhesion covers. And in a perfect world water will adhere to the curvature of the surface. What happens when debris lands on the gutter? It will direct it right into the gutter. Maybe in a lab or controlled environment this will work but mother nature has other intentions.
No Covers
Most gutters do not have covers. This is an example of what to expect if you do not clean out your gutters multiple times per year.
Home Center Screens
We have all been to the home center and seen products like this. The worker at the home center says it will do the trick. They become a nightmare. Not only do they not work, they are almost pre-made to support plant growth in your gutters!
